In her DANCE CLASSES and in her INTENSIVE SUMMER WORKSHOPS, as well as in BIG BANG – an intensive training offer in Montreal, Stéphanie Decourteille shares her technique of contemporary dance and her choreographic language. She works with artists (dancers, circus artists, comedians, etc.) and helps them to acquire new technical tools and full artistic maturity.

As of January 11, 2023, Espace Ouvert will host morning training classes in contemporary dance, with Stéphanie Decourteille, every Wednesday with one class from 9:00 to 10:30 am (intermediate level) and one class from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm (advanced level).


BIG BANG is an intensive contemporary dance program that offers artists the opportunity to perfect their dance skills and to benefit from personalized support throughout a research and creation process of a solo. 


Each summer, Stephanie offers an intensive during days  that includes technical classes in contemporary dance and multidisciplinary workshops. During 2 weeks an intensive will be also held during the evening.


About Stéphanie

Professionally trained in both ballet and contemporary dance, Stephanie Decourteille has achieved the artistic role of instructor, choreographer, dancer and artistic counsellor. Throughout her years of training and acquaintances with leading heads in the scene (Rudy Bryans, Corinne Lanselle, Bruno Agati, Manon Barbeau etc.), she defines and tirelessly reinvents her signature choreographic style. "Vertiges", her first danced solo and short dance film reasoned the recognition from her peers and fueled her international visibility. In November 2015, Stephanie left Montreal for Guadeloupe (FR) to create a new dance center . She also supports professional and amateur artists by offering master classes and weekly classes in Montreal. Since January 2018, by creating BIG BANG an intensive training in contemporary dance, Stéphanie welcomes artists who wish to improve their and technical and artistic skills.





Autumn program will take place from August 28 to December 17, 2023. A video-audition process is  possible until April 3, 2023. You can send your resume, letter of interest, a video of a dance improvisation and a video of choreographic creation to




A new session of morning classes with Stephanie Decourteille will begin on January 11, 2023 with a contemporary dance class (intermediate) on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and a contemporary dance class (advanced) on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 12 pm. 




The summer intensive will take place  during 4 weeks. It will include classes and workshops in contemporary dance, contemporary ballet barre, floorwork, improvisation, theater, capoeira, acrobatics, hip-hop, yoga, ... During 2 weeks an intensive will be also held during the evening.




Advanced dancers will be able to participate in some technical classes in contemporary dance given by Stephanie Decourteille as part of BIG BANG's winter program. Places are limited and online registrations are requested
